Analytics is optional.
We use Google Analytics on furtherinvestments.co.uk to understand which pages visitors use and improve the website. The Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics information is sent to Google before you accept. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you using the website or contacting us.
What we store.
Your accept or reject choice is saved in your browser's local storage asfi-analytics-consent for 180 days. This is a preference record, not an analytics cookie. It lets the website remember your choice. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice applies to the current visit and may need to be made again.
After you accept, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies named_ga and _ga_<measurement ID> to distinguish browser visits and maintain session information. We configure these cookies to expire after 180 days from creation, without extending their lifetime on each page load. Browser settings may shorten this period.
Analytics receives page addresses with query strings and fragments removed. We do not send enquiry form contents or track form interactions or link clicks. Advertising features and personalised advertising are disabled.
Analytics data retention.
Google Analytics is set to retain event-level data for two months and user-level data for 14 months. The user-data period resets when new activity is recorded. These settings do not limit most aggregated reports. These periods are separate from the lifetime of cookies stored in your browser.
Change or withdraw your permission.
Open Cookie settings in the footer to accept or reject analytics. If you withdraw permission, analytics is disabled, its cookies are deleted and the page reloads to stop the loaded analytics code. Your rejection is remembered for 180 days. This does not delete information already sent to Google while analytics was accepted.
You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser. This removes the saved choice, so the website will ask again. If your browser cannot save a withdrawal or remove an earlier acceptance, analytics stays off on the current page and a message asks you to retry before reloading.
